Sur,Taal and Laya are the three main pillars of Hindustani Classical Music and Rabindra Sangeet as well. Rabindranath had taken up Taal in a serious extent, just as an artist plans his canvas at the time of making a master piece. Not only he would select the Taal that would be the perfect match for his song but he had formulated some unique Taals to suit his compositions. He was equally proficient in using Samapadi (that contains equal breakups) Taals, as well as Bisamapadi (that contains unequal breakups) Taals.
